Переслать - BlackBerry Z30 Logo Found In Latest Leaked OS (A-Series
We have some more goodies spotted in the latest leaked beta of BlackBerry 10. Not only does it include assets for the BlackBerry Z30 but it also includes a logo for the device. Kudos to Ofutur for digging this one up! Signs are pointing at the aristo being called the Z30 though this is all still in rumors ville…

Переслать - Latest OS Leak Hints at BlackBerry Z30 Name for Unannounced A-Series Device
The BlackBerry A-series devices with their large screen and media capabilities are leading to quite a bit of speculation. We have already seen what the device looks like but we have yet to know what it will be called. BlackBerry's marketing department always has the final say on these things but you never know. Originally we were calling it by its codename Aristo which then became shortened to the A10. Once we realized there were more than one model it was dubbed the A-Series. Now Ofutur spotted an interesting listing in a system file in the latest BlackBerry 10 OS leak. This file that lists all the currently unreleased phones has a listing for:
ID 8c00240a, STA100-1:Z30 BlackBerry Z30:Touch
I am not sure what to make of that and I advise you to take it with a huge grain of salt since it all depends on the marketing material. Still it is interesting… It is also showing up in asset folders and a video showing how to insert the sim card which could mean this is the final name:

Переслать - BlackBerry 9720 Caught in Comparison Video with BlackBerry Q5
Its nice to see BlackBerry's low end models starting to fill up due to that being their largest market currently. The BlackBerry Q5 has been out in the mid range for a bit now with the last BlackBerry 7 device coming shortly as the BlackBerry 9720. Now BerryInsider has caught both of those devices in one comparison video for you all. Check it out below:

Переслать - BBM Channels Gets Loads of New Features in Beta Zone Update (BB10 & Legacy)
BlackBerry has updated both the legacy and BlackBerry 10 BBM clients in the Beta Zone with some new features for BBM Channels. The new features include Multi-Threaded comments which is awesome though sadly still no comment notification. You can also delete comments and offer up office hours of when the channel manager is available for chats. Best of all you can report spam!!!
Here are the details:
- Multi-Threaded Comments - don't worry about your comments getting lost ever again! Reply directly to comments to have more engaging conversations in BBM Channels.
- Delete Comments – manage the content posted in your channel.
- Date of Birth Verification – authenticate yourself when you sign up for Channels so we are providing the correct experience for your age group.
- Office Hours – let subscribers know when you're available to chat! Set office hours from your channel profile so subscribers know when you can be reached.
- Enhanced BlackBerry 10 Updates Tab within BBM: liking and commenting has never been easier. You can now like and comment on your favourite posts straight from the updates tab! You can also 'tap' on pictures from a Channel post to see them grow full size.
- Verified Badge – no need to wonder if the channel you're following is authentic. Now you can look for the verified badge for selected channels in profile, search results, and carousel. Check out the Blue Jays and BlackBerry Channel for some examples of how badging looks!
- Reporting Content – you can now report channels, posts, and comments as inappropriate so BlackBerry can review and address.
Check out the latest version of BBM Channels in the beta zone here.

Переслать - WSJ Claims FBI is Remotely Hacking Android & Laptop Microphones to Track Suspects
Now here is an interesting wrinkle. If you are familiar with spyware you probably aware that hackers can attempt to gain control of your computer and use it against you. Law enforcement adopted this tactic with their own hackers since the beginning of the century to catch criminals, log their keyboard, and more. Now the WSJ claims that they have confirmation that the FBI is doing just that with Android phones remotely. They don't have much in terms of details but supposedly the FBI has a way to remotely hack Android phones and tap into the microphone. They do something similar with computers using the microphone and video camera if they are plugged in.
The big question is how the FBI is executing these remote taps. If they are installing malicious software on the device when they have it in their possession then this is not a big deal. On the other hand if they are exploiting vulnerabilities (or possibly even a back door) remotely then that is a totally different story. Still the Android OS core is reviewed by quite a few people trying to build ROMs so I am not sure how a back door would be missed.
Check out the fear mongering story over at the WSJ. In short there really is no privacy expectations in the digital world.

Переслать - Porsche Design BlackBerry 10 Device Caught In a High Res Photo Shoot
We now have a better idea of what the Porsche Design version of the BlackBerry Z10 will look like. tinhte.vn scored another photo shoot with the device and this time we have the whole thing in high quality. It still seems like a prototype but I am loving the new back cover. It is using the same battery as the Z10 and is rumored to be called the P’9982 after the P'9981. Check out the glorious pictures below and start saving your pennies if you want to pick up one of these ridiculously expensive devices. If you need to ask how much it costs then you probably are not the target market for the device…
