Переслать - WhatsApp Adds Push To Talk Feature on BlackBerry 10 & Other Platforms
WhatsApp has just pushed their app a little forward with push to talk integration. That means you can easily send voice notes back and forth just by holding the little recording microphone. This is nowhere near the full duplex voice and video calls you can make over BBM now but I really really hope BlackBerry adds a push to talk button in the future. It would be a great way to send a note quickly without having to make a full call or having to enter the menu. In short it would just be another button to add to the BBM chat screen.
Check out the new Push to Talk feature out in WhatsApp and let us know what you think. The new feature is added server side so you do not need to upgrade the app but if you don’t already have it then you can download it in BlackBerry World. Let us know if it is working on legacy BlackBerry devices!

Переслать - Have a BlackBerry PlayBook? Origami Browser Will Breath New Life Into It! (Free)
I have been following an interesting development where the CrackBerry forums community has banded together to support a new browser for the discarded BlackBerry PlayBook. I have to say I am HUGELY impressed with the results. The Origami Browser is a totally native browser for the BlackBerry PlayBook that really blows away the native browser. Its like someone went down a wish list of features for the native Browser and built them all. This includes ad blocking, download manager, easy tabs, bookmarklets, gestures, one click JS and Flash toggle, password manager, etc.
The best part is that Origami Browser is totally free though I HIGHLY recommend sending a donation their way. You can check out the browser for yourself in BlackBerry World. I can't wait to see where they take this project… Kudos to everyone involved and let us know if we can help!

Переслать - BeMaps 10 Pro Google Maps Client for BlackBerry 10 Updated to v1.1
Bellshare has updated their popular BeMaps 10 Pro Google Maps client for BlackBerry 10 to v1.1. The new version brings basic overall improvements all around the interface and usability updates. The app itself and maps also load quicker. Either way it is definitely a recommended app for $3.99 in BlackBerry World just for the transit directions. Hopefully Google gets over themselves and brings Google Maps natively to BlackBerry 10.

Переслать - Six Months Later… Is it the BlackBerry ZED 10 or ZEE 10?
We told you a little over six months ago that the BlackBerry Z10 had a funny pronunciation conundrum. According to BlackBerry they were going to pronounce it ZED 10 everywhere but the US where it would be called the ZEE 10. Since then I have been fighting the powers that be and trying to pronounce it the ZED 10 in the US because I think it sounds better.
This will come up again with the BlackBerry ZED 30 (Z30).
So now that it is 6 months since launch what are you calling the
ZED 10Z10? Let me know your preference and country in the comments!PS: Its interesting to note that when you Google ZED 10 it has a sponsored ad from BlackBerry for the Z10…

Переслать - Account Colors and Priority Indicators Added in BlackBerry OS 10.2 Hub
BlackBerry added two new indicators in the BlackBerry OS 10.2 beta that I am really digging. First is a simple rule set that will highlight "priority" emails based on a simple ruleset like conversations you started or having the same last name as you or simply having the Important flag set. Priority emails get a slight red line to the right of the email as an indicator.
The Account Colors is actually a feature I appreciate more and has been improved from legacy BlackBerry devices. It allows you to set a color indicator to the left of every email in the hub that indicates which email address received it. Since I have 4 email addresses this is a godsend! Sadly there are only six color options but hopefully more are coming. The ones offered are pretty high contrast. You can set this option by going into the hub, hitting the menu button, selection settings, scrolling down and selecting email account, and then clicking on an email account and changing the color.

Переслать - BlackBerry Z30 Gets Comparison Shots to Q5 and Z10
The BlackBerry Z30 just cannot stay out of the camera's eye. We now have some more pictures of the Z30 compared to the Z10 and Q5 courtesy of our friends at CrackBerry. It gives you a bit of an idea of how the devices stack up though the pics are blurred to hide the SN and icons. The Z30 is running with 5 rows of icons now though this seems to bounce back and forth.
