- Autumn Dynasty Dev Details What It Took To Port From iOS to BlackBerry 10
If you have not yet played Autumn Dynasty on BlackBerry 10 I highly recommend giving it a shot. The game offers awesome real time strategy along with gorgeous themed graphics. I thought it was pretty cool to see the developer detail how they brought their game from iOS to BlackBerry 10 and what they found to be the pros and cons of the process.

A few readers let us know about EasyTunes and I have to say I am impressed. The app seems to tie into some free streaming service through easytune.in and brings loads of great music free to all the BlackBerry 10 models and the
PlayBook. The app is native on BlackBerry 10 but I have not tried it on the PlayBook. I did find the app a bit laggy and data hungry but it does work and has an awesome catalog of content. Sometimes it even beats out the Slacker Premium subscription I have.Check out EasyTunes free in BlackBerry World

BlackBerry announced that they were changing their name to BlackBerry Limited from Research in Motion Limited earlier this year. The only loop they had to pass was a vote during the shareholder meeting to approve the name change. That has officially gone through at the meeting today with over 99% approval. So now we can officially call them BlackBerry Limited.

Both the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 just got an official Kobo app. The downside is that it took Kobo this long to simply port their Android app to BlackBerry 10. Sadly the performance is just not there but hopefully the 10.2 update to Android Jelly Bean will help that with hardware acceleration.

This leak is a bit more complicated than previous leaks but Kris has scored again. It involves installing OS 10.2.0.341 dev OS on your device and then flashing 10.2.0.483 over it. It also superimposes your PIN on the screen if that worries you for screenshots. Kris is confirming certain devices are working and others are untested so PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Переслать - AT&T Gets Its Act Together and Rolls Out OS 10.1.0.2074 to the BlackBerry Z10
After a monumental screw up last time AT&T has finally gotten around the rolling out the updated OS for the BlackBerry Z10. They are pushing out OS 10.1.0.2074 which brings some nice perks. This includes some improved UI elements in the Hub and elsewhere along with the keyboard. The update is over 300MB so keep in mind it will take awhile to download.
So what are you waiting for? Hit that update button!

I had a chance to play Mini Dash on my backup Z10 and I have to say I am impressed by PlayCreeks latest release. THe game is an awesome platformer where you control the hero from a dangerous world. Your job is to get through every challenging level along with upgrading your character throughout. Check out the Android trailer below to get an idea of gameplay:

Переслать - FAQ: How Many Days in the Past/Future Does BlackBerry 10 Calendar Sync with CalDAV (aka Gmail, Yahoo, etc)
A few readers have asked me over the last month how CalDAV wireless calendar synching works on BlackBerry 10. If you have setup your Gmail, Google Apps, or some Yahoo and other accounts on your BlackBerry 10 phone you will notice that it syncs your Calendar entries using CalDAV. The problem is it does not specify how many days in syncs to your device.
Thankfully BlackBerry has finally answered the conundrum for me with this knowledge base entry. Here is the gist:
- Calendar appointments created on the CalDAV source calendar will sync to the smartphone for 90 days into the past and 365 days into the future from the current day.
- Calendar appointments created on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone (in the associated CalDAV account) will sync to the CalDAV source calendar forever into both the past and future.
In other words you always have a year going forward and 90 days going backwards on your phone. It will sync that date range at a certain interval (most are set to 30 minutes).

Переслать - What Are You Expecting from BlackBerry's Annual Shareholder Meeting Tomorrow Morning?
I am truly drawing a blank when it comes to expectations for BlackBerry's annual shareholder meeting tomorrow at 10AM EST. You can follow in on the webcast yourself at this link and we will be covering the news here on BerryReview. BlackBerry did a wonderful job of damaging the positive perceptions they were finally gaining with their earnings report. Their stock has tanked since the report and is trading for less than book value last time I checked. This makes me wonder if shareholders will be showing up with pitchforks tomorrow.
On the other hand BlackBerry has an opportunity to recover their executives damaged reputation with a clear vision of the next quarter. Both investors and users are tired of hearing about the "competitive market" and rather want to hear how BlackBerry plans on blowing past the competition. I would even be happy if they could just figure out a way to have all their BlackBerry 10 devices running the latest operating system.

While BlackBerry has been making some phones without keyboards ever since 2008, it has long held true that the majority of BlackBerrys sold have had a physical keyboard. However now that BlackBerry has moved on to their new QNX based operating system that is no longer a given. Even now that the Q10 is widely available, the vast majority of BlackBerry 10 users do not have a physical keyboard on their device.
When looking at app downloads the BlackBerry Z10 has outperformed the Q10 for month after month, and June was no different. This has been true both across games, as well as in more standard utility apps. For example look at app downloads in the Productivity-Organization category where I happen to have access to stats from some of the top ranked apps. If anything you would think that a category with a ‘get things done’ approach like this one would show an oversampling of keyboard users. In fact they are by far in the minority.
The top ranked third-party app in the category is the Stuff I Need checklist app that saw 83.5% of downloads in June to users without a physical keyboard (see the pie chart above). The next most popular app is Corky Notes which saw 75% of its downloads on the Z10 over the same month (see the pie chart below). Downloads of both apps skewing heavily away from the physical keyboard phones.
While BlackBerry 10 does continue to offer more devices with a full keyboard than iOS or Android, having one has become the exception, not the rule. On BlackBerry 10 it is time to stop thinking first about keyboards, and remember that most users on the platform are touchscreen only.

They will be letting users vote on Facebook for the best flight and the winner will get a BlackBerry Z10. Better yet everyone that votes will be entered to win a 32GB BlackBerry PlayBook.
