- Devs: BlackBerry App World Vendor Portal 4.0 is Now Available
RIM has been ramping up their improvements of BlackBerry App World for vendors as they get nearer to BlackBerry 10's launch. The latest update is to the BlackBerry App World Vendor Portal which has been updated to v4.0. This new version adds something that vendors have been doing unofficially for awhile which is Keywords. These keywords will be used in a future version of BlackBerry App World clients and webstore. The three main updates RIM has highlighted are:
Keywords
We've added a section on the DESCRIPTION tab when editing your application. You can add now add keywords to your app. This list of words is designed to make it easier for consumers to discover your apps. The keywords will be used in a future version of the BlackBerry App World client & webstore.Automatic "For Sale" posting
Once your application(s) get approved, they will automatically be posted 'Up for Sale'. You can opt out of this automatic posting during the submission process, but must be done prior to submitting your application(s) for approval.Privacy Policy
Within your Vendor Account details, we've added a location where you can provide a URL to your Privacy Policy, which in turn will be visible by end-users.Lots of changes are happening behind the scenes, but we wanted to ensure you were informed of these three changes that can help you prepare for BlackBerry® 10.
For more information regarding the Vendor Portal 4.0, please visit the BlackBerry App World Vendor Portal Documentation page, and as always you can find plenty of information in our BlackBerry App World Vendor FAQ.If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Переслать - Ciao from Italy!
Hi all. Many of you have been asking about me not being around for the last two weeks or so. I was on an anniversary vacation out in Italy and should be back when you read this. I picked up some great tips for traveling in Europe with my BlackBerry and getting around thanks to my PlayBook and PDF public transport maps. (side note: Google Maps is horrible in Italy so I could not go that route)
Now that I am back you will be see more of me in our regularly scheduled programming. Until then I highly recommend checking out my favorite gadget I used on the trip which is the Tripshell travel adapter. It has two built in USB ports along with plugs for most countries all in a compact package. It pumps out 1A per port which is more than enough for your BlackBerry 7 smartphone and PlayBook. You will need to pick up charging only USB cables to fool newer BlackBerry 7 devices into charging (I hate that feature) but that is a trick for later.
