- BlackBerry Link 1.2 Leaks Out For Windows Users
We saw a bit of BlackBerry Link 1.2 a bit back but now it looks like we will be seeing it sooner rather than later. The folks at CrackBerry scored a link to the BlackBerry Link v1.2 installer and it seems to work nicely. It has a nice overhauled look along with better backups and synching. Keep in mind this download is not official so proceed at your own risk. Hopefully the Mac version will leak soon or BlackBerry will simply release the update.

Переслать - BlackBerry Sending Out Invites to International Launch Events
BlackBerry has been building up some mystery by sending out event invites around the world. First they were mentioned for Malaysia on September 18th and now France and then India too. The first poster said they heard hints that it was all about the BlackBerry Z30 but it could just as easily be about the BlackBerry Messenger Cross Platform launch. It would be odd for them to do that one internationally first but who knows what BlackBerry has planned.
What do you think the events are for?

Переслать - AT&T Apologizes for Tasteless 9/11 Commemoration Tweet With Z10
I am not sure if BlackBerry was even involved in this but AT&T posted a tweet on 9/11 that had the twitter-verse critics out in full force. They sent out a picture of the twin towers with two beams of light been shown through what looks like a BlackBerry Z10 screen. (either that or a dead ringer for one) It did not show a logo or any ad message but people though AT&T was trying to take advantage of the day for commercial gain. Thankfully they quickly apologized and took down the tweet that they said was in bad taste. Check out the details on the Financial Post.

Переслать - Samsung Continues to Promote Cross Platform BBM Internationally
Its very odd to see Samsung making such a big deal of BBM coming to Android. On the other hand we have BlackBerry staying radio silent on it and essentially just showing it to users at the TIFF festival. Readers who went to the TIFF festival told us they were impressed with what BlackBerry has made and it really will push WhatsApp into a corner. BlackBerry even managed to squeeze many elements of the Cascades FLOW into the Android app though not the iPhone app.
Either way this latest add just goes to show even Samsung is excited about cross platform BBM out in South Africa. They made their whole Twitter account focused on it. They just keep on promoting it…

Переслать - Android Runtime Without Permanent Back Bar Now Available for Sideloading (10.2)
Attention all Android sideloaders. Ofutur let us know that BerryLeaks has put out the version of the Android VM that allows you to hide the action bar in Android apps. The permanent bar is now gone which is a godsend on the smaller Q10 screen. It really makes you wonder what BlackBerry was thinking… You can still set the bar PER APPLICATION which is really nice. The only downside is that this sideloaded runtime is locked so you will have to install and sideload apps with the debug token method.
Check out the details here on the CrackBerry forums thread and download below:

EDIT: only tested on 10.2.0.1443 and higher, including 10.2.1.200. And it won’t work on 10.1, don’t try to install.

Переслать - BlackBerry Board Rumored To Have Hired Perella Weinberg To Advise on Sale Options
It seems like the BlackBerry Board is doing some serious due diligence about a possible sale of the company. THe latest is from the WSJ that claims that BlackBerry's Board has hired Perella Weinberg Partners to advise on a sale. They already announced awhile back that they hired JP Morgan to advise but this could just be some double checking. It could be also due to potential conflicts by shareholders making a bid for the company.
Also of interest is that BlackBerry is supposedly lobbying the government to waive their foreign takeover rules which lets the government review any buyout over $344 million. On top of that we have rumors that Fairfax Financial and another source are having only initial talks with Canadian investment funds on a privatization of the company.
