Переслать - Selfridges sells out of the Q10 in 90 minutes!
We posted earlier, that the Q10 has officially gone on sale a bit earlier than initially thought. The UK retailer Selfridges managed to get their hands on a few thousand units, and not much to our surprise, sold out within 90 minutes!
Here are some interesting facts about the sales:
- They blew out 2000 units in the first 90 minutes
- That’s 22.2 phones per minute
Now to say that this is a better response than the Z10, might be an under sight as one of the employees was asked, and her reply was ”leagues beyond anything they had seen.” Check out the rest of the report from SeekingAlpha and let us know what you think!

Переслать - Go To Court With Max McMann in the Devil's Attorney Game
The Devil’s Attorney by Senri AB has been out for a while, though I hadn’t really checked it out til now. Attorney games and court games can be fun, and while playing the game all I could think of was Richard Gere’s character Billy Flynn in Chicago. Witty, funny, and charming, this game will keep you entertained while you play, and help Max win his cases so he can get the things he wants.
The game is fun, and it’s a turn by turn game. You go to the office, look at your case, go to court and try to win the case as quickly as possible. The clients are guilty but that’s why Max makes the big bucks. Max has some skills to start with and you learn and earn more along the way. In court you can use your skills to make witnesses lose credibility, target the evidence so it falls away, and knock out the prosecutor.
The script is brilliant and the cases are fun, challenging, and at times extremely humorous. The game is $2.99 in BlackBerry World and it’s worth every cent and more to keep entertained as you battle in court with wits and skills. You’ll love the voices too, the fun remarks and the creativity you’ll find in the game. This is one game I actually liked because of the interaction and dry humor. Check it out and let us know what you think.
You can grab the Devil’s Attorney for only $2.99 here

Переслать - Selfridges Briskly Selling BlackBerry Q10's in the UK Today
We heard that Selfridges in the UK was selling the BlackBerry Q10 today being the first to actually sell the device. They are offering the Q10 without a contract for £579.99 which is pricey but wow did people bite. According to pictures and reports from Michael over @CrackBerry there were crowds waiting to buy the devices even at Selfridges markup and they sold through over a 1,000 in a matter of hours with more to be sold over the weekend.
That is a pretty impressive start for the BlackBerry Q10. It should be interesting to see how it explodes next week in Canada.

Переслать - BlackBerry Previews New WebWorks "Bootstrap" Sample for Developers
BlackBerry WebWorks developers have been struggling to create "Built for BlackBerry" experiences on BlackBerry 10. Our buddy Chad at BlackBerry is trying to simplify that by creating a new WebWorks Bootstrap sample for developers. Instead of using frameworks like jQuery Mobile or even BlackBerrys BBUI.js this sample Bootstrap just gives developers the basic skeleton for creating a Built for BlackBerry app. It includes all of the features that your app needs to have to pass that certification including following the BlackBerry UI guidelines, BBM and shareing, and more including app menu swipedown, toasts, window covers, and device specific splash screens.
This is all still in v1 of the sample but hopefully Chad keeps on going. This is a great starting point for new WebWorks developers to get up to speed on the quirks of making things like a swipe down menu work on BlackBerry 10. Hopefully "pull to refresh" is coming soon too.
Check out the details in Chad's announcement or follow him on Twitter. You can find the bootstrap on GitHub.

Переслать - Flixter Updates Their Native BlackBerry 10 App with BBM & Q10 Support
We have more and more developers adding Q10 support before the launch of the BlackBerry Q10. Now Flixter has updated their app with support for the new screen size. It also added BBM integration to share movie info from the app. Very useful.

Переслать - BlackBerry Bridge Updated to v3.0.9.11 for BlackBerry Q10 Support
BlackBerry has rolled out a small update to BlackBerry Bridge today. This update just gives the BlackBerry 10 version support for the Q10. Nothing groundbreaking but I doubt it is a sign of an impending OS update.

Переслать - BlackBerry Giving Away 3 Month Skype Unlimited World Subscriptions (US, UK, Canada)
To celebrate the launch of Skype on BlackBerry 10 we have a little surprise from BlackBerry. Bill let us know that BlackBerry is offering a stack of 3 month Skype Unlimited World Subscriptions by way of a voucher. We don't know how many are available to sign up quick. The only catch is the voucher seems to only be good in the US, UK, and Canada though I am not sure how they verify that.

Переслать - Skype Announces Its Launch on the BlackBerry Q10 – Promises More in Final Release
BlackBerry users have been waiting awhile to get Skype on their devices. That finally changed this week with Skype launching for the BlackBerry Q10 and BlackBerry putting it in BlackBerry World. Sadly it requires OS 10.1 which the BlackBerry Z10 does not have officially yet but BlackBerry promises its will be available "in the coming weeks."
What I found very interesting today is that Skype, now owned by Microsoft, has announced their new Skype BlackBerry 10 client on their blog. They clearly call it a preview release and not final. Specifically they say that
Keep in mind that this release is still in preview state which means that the experiences are not yet final. We do however think you'll be impressed – the app already offers all the Skype features BlackBerry 10 users have been looking forward to.
They also went on to say how they have been working closely with BlackBerry to optimize their Android app for BlackBerry 10. Specifically they stated that:
We've been working closely with BlackBerry to bring our Skype for Android app to the BlackBerry 10 platform in order to bring all the amazing Skype features to the device. When you start using the app, you will notice we have adjusted the Skype user interface to make it look great on the BlackBerry Q10 display. Also, we have made it very easy for you to connect with your friends and family. For example, once you sign into Skype on your phone, your Skype contacts are automatically added to your BlackBerry phonebook. This means you can see your Skype friends and their profile details, and initiate a chat with a contact directly from the phonebook – helping you keep in touch with the people who matter to you most. What's more, all your Skype notifications – including incoming chat, contact invite requests, and the like – are automatically visible in the BlackBerry Hub.
The Skype app is available April 26th for BlackBerry Q10 users. You can download Skype to your Q10 phone from BlackBerry World now. BlackBerry and your operator will make the new BlackBerry 10.1 operating system available on the BlackBerry Z10 in the near future, also BlackBerry Z10 owners will be able to enjoy Skype.
Hopefully we get a much more optimized version when this goes final! I want to be able to make Skype Out phone calls from the address book.
Until then check out our review of the Skype preview on BlackBerry 10.
