- Updated Twitter & LinkedIn for BlackBerry 10 Rolling Out With New Features (v10.1.3/10.0.3)
I am personally waiting for BlackBerry to add multiple account support for Twitter but until then we have a nice update for Twitter and LinkedIn on BlackBerry 10. There are two version numbers with 10.1.3 coming for OS 10.1 devices and 10.0.3 for OS 10.0 devices. BlackBerry was kind enough to release a change log for these versions with new features like integrating more Twitter content in universal search and importing your contacts into LinkedIn. Here are the details:
New Features for Twitter version 10.0.3/10.1.3
- Enjoy more content with Universal Search –See more content when you're searching. You'll be able to view related profiles, tweets and top tweets, photos and relevant searches all on one page.
- Always Fresh Content – Content that is always fresh and up to date. Automatic caching gives you the current information at your fingertips without having to manually refresh your tabs.
New Features for LinkedIn version 10.0.3/10.1.3
- Find your current contacts on LinkedIn: With the latest update, you can import the personal address book from your BlackBerry 10 device to LinkedIn, making it easier to view and connect to your contacts on LinkedIn.
- UI improvements: We've updated the overall design of the LinkedIn application for BlackBerry 10 to improve the user experience. These updates include improved visual styling, better pull down functionalities for refreshes, touch down feedback on clicking list items, and more.
- Follow and learn about companies :An important element of LinkedIn is the ability to connect to companies and subscribe for company related updates and content. The latest version of LinkedIn for BlackBerry 10 allows you to view information about the companies you follow in greater detail, such as:
- How you're connected
- About
- Jobs
- Similar Companies
- News & Updates
- Other Updates: We've made quite a few additional updates to LinkedIn for BlackBerry 10. These include inbox enhancements, deleting and archiving messages, people search improvements, and the ability to update your profile photo from within the app. To get all the details, visit the official app page on the BlackBerry World application storefront.
The updates should be available in BlackBerry World in the next 24 hours at the following links:

Переслать - Notorious Patent Troll Wi-Lan Initiates Third Patent Lawsuit Against BlackBerry LTE Devices
This whole patent troll business has gotten way out of hand. The notorious Wi-Lan patent troll has sued BlackBerry yet again, the third such lawsuit against BlackBerry, this time targeting LTE BlackBerry devices. They are asking for an injunction in the US against all LTE based BlackBerry devices for U.S. Patent No. 8,274,991 which covers a "protocol for allocating upstream slots over a link in a point-to-multipoint communication system."
In other words it seems like multi-point uplink connections over LTE are attempted to be covered by this patent. I cannot imagine it is just BlackBerry following this standard but it should be interesting to see how it plays out yet again.

Переслать - Endomondo Hints At Upcoming BlackBerry 10 Announcement
I have been looking for a good run tracking app for my BlackBerry Q10 since my old Runtastic app has yet to release a BlackBerry 10 app. Its good to see that the other big player Endomondo seems to be working on something. Michelle @CrackBerry has been following a thread on Endomondo's forums where users were asking for a native BlackBerry 10 app. At first it seemed like they were going to try porting their Android app but that did not work due to its need for Google Maps. Today one Endomondo employee responded that:
Hi guys,
it’s great to see that many of you are passionate about Endomondo and would like to use it on your BB10. Thank you for reaching out and letting us know your ideas. There is a BlackBerry conference in Orlando next week and we think you are going to like some of the news announced thereTo be continued…
Endomondo teamThat seems to hint that we will be hearing something next week! Here is to hoping it is native.

Переслать - Cameraless BlackBerry Q10 is Possible But BlackBerry Exec Says It Is Up to Carrier Demand
I have been wondering if BlackBerry would release either the BlackBerry Q10 or Z10 without a camera. There are many companies where cameras are still not allowed (R&D, government, etc) and BlackBerry has consistently offered camera-less versions of legacy BlackBerrys for those markets a few months after the regular launch. With BlackBerry 10 we have yet to hear or such a camera-less BlackBerry.
Now BlackBerry Singapore's country director Charles Dufourcq stated (via CNET) that a camera free BlackBerry Q10 is "technically possible" and "isn't a difficult task" but a new manufacturing line would be required. He further stated that it is up to carrier demand for BlackBerry to put in the effort for a camera-less Q10 and "as of now, there are no plans to do so." I am not sure if that is a global statement but I doubt it would be different per country.
What do you think? Do you need a camera-less device at your job?

Переслать - FAQ: How to Reject or Silence an Incoming Call on BlackBerry 10
One of our readers sent in what I thought was a relatively straightforward BlackBerry 10 tip posted by our colleagues at CrackBerry on how to reject an incoming call. To do that you simply swipe up from the middle of the screen instead of swiping down to accept the call. The problem with rejecting a call is that it immediately sends the caller to voicemail making them think you are avoiding them.
That is why there is a third option to silence the ringer instead of rejecting the call.
To silence the ringer on an incoming call with your BlackBerry 10 device you can simply press any of the volume keys. On top of that you can also just tap on the middle of the screen instead of swiping.
Let us know if you have any other good tips!

Переслать - Sprint Showing Off BlackBerry Q10 At BlackBerry Live Next Week
Sprint send out an email to their BlackBerry Live attendees list that they will be showing off "BlackBerry 10 Devices" at BlackBerry Live next week. On the other hand they have created a microsite for BlackBerry Live that clearly shows the BlackBerry Q10. Check it out here.
Here is what they sent out:

Переслать - BlackBerry R10 Caught Packing a 2180mAh Battery
We told you earlier that the latest pre-production model of the mid-tier BlackBerry R10 had a non-removable battery. At first the rumor had the device showing an 1800mAh battery like the Z10 but it turns out it is actually packing a 2180mAh battery behind its non-removable (at least not easily removable) back. (kudos to BBin for scoring the pic) That should give the device equal or slightly better battery life than the Q10 which easily makes it through a hard day. What do you think of the non-removable battery now?

This is not the BlackBerry link update that many of you have been waiting for with 2 way outlook sync but it does provide some useful bug fixes. BlackBerry was kind enough to include a change log for both versions and they seem to just be minor improvements. You can download the latest version of BlackBerry Link here.

So you have your BlackBerry 10 device, want to take pics, and you’ve been taking a few pics, just getting used to the camera. There are some ways to get into your using camera, and we’re going to show you how to do it with simple tricks and tips so you can better understand your Z and shoot like a pro. So grab your Z and follow the video along with us.
Desktop Video Link | Mobile Video Link In this video I go through the Settings, how to drag the thumbnail box of the last picture taken to view, the different modes available, how to zoom, and the only thing I forgot to add was how to focus on the subject. If you take the box that centers and move it and hold over your subject or the point you want to focus in on, the camera will hold that focus.
